From prestigious projects to beautiful family homes
Every home I build starts with someone else's vision — not mine.
This is a bit about the path that taught me how to build it properly, so that when it's your turn, you're in capable hands.
I grew up on building sites with my father — an Italian craftsman who believed a home should be built better than the specification, never watered down, and finished with pride. That standard still shapes every decision on site today.
Over two decades across Australia and New Zealand, I've learned what it takes to protect a client's vision: stay hands-on as the licensed builder and project manager, source materials carefully, and never hand the job off to a rotating cast of strangers.
I'm Anthony, licensed builder with over 20 years experience in building and construction. I have been involved in construction projects in Australia and New Zealand since 1995. What I love most about building is starting with a vision — someone else's vision — and working to bring it into a tangible reality, then watching them experience living in the finished product.
The feeling of creating a beautiful family home that has been designed with purpose and intent is very special; something that my wife and I wanted to share with everyone choosing to build a new home. If you are going to build a new home it is important to think about how the layout best suits your life and living circumstances. The elegance and beauty of the home comes in the quality finish we layer on top of the layout.
Ocean One is the culmination of my lifetime experiences in building, construction, landscaping and design. It's built on a passion to create beautiful, functional and elegant buildings that incorporate natural elements and provide a connection with nature in some form.
As a teenager I began working on residential and commercial building sites with Dad who, having migrated from Italy to Melbourne in the 1950s, would love waking me up before sunrise to get me onto the job.
I've been learning from my father since I helped him on our first family home in 1979 as a four year old. He started building with his father in the 1950s, and the Italian tradition of quality building and construction was passed onto me — almost without me even realising it. Builders from that era loved to create something of quality; something to be proud of. A piece of art that could last a lifetime. Dad's mantra has always been: do better than the specification, use extra concrete, never water down the paint, and make sure the finish exceeds expectations.
Since 1995 I've worked on many commercial and civil projects as well as residential homes, developments and within building supply. I have been the founder of two successful companies in the building industry and continue to educate myself on the latest design and construction practices with a strong focus on sustainability, engineering and community.
While working with and learning directly from some of the most experienced people in the construction industry in Australia, I learnt a lot about what is required to build high quality homes and developments and make them a success.
During the past two decades I have travelled overseas many times each year to stone quarries and building suppliers around the world. I have created a network of suppliers in key parts of Europe, Australia, USA, the Middle East and Asia — buying materials direct from the source and giving our clients a real advantage when it comes to a high quality finish at a better price.
Every one of these lessons exists for one reason: so that when you're ready to build, you don't have to learn any of it the hard way.
I welcome the opportunity to work with you on your project.
All the best,
Anthony
